Mrs. Eunice Stevens
Early, Iowa-- Mrs. Eunice M Stevens, 90, of Early died Tuesday Dec. 6, 1988, in a nursing home in Sac City. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Presbyterian Church in Early with the Rev. Richard B Emery officiating. Burial will be in the Early Union Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. today with an Order of Eastern Star service conducted by Chapter 386 of Schaller at 7 p.m. in Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City.
Mrs. Stevens, the former Eunice McLagan, was born Dec. 19, 1897 in Sac City. She married Ray Stevens Nov. 8, 1922, in Lohrville. The couple made their home in Early. He died in 1967. Mrs. Stevens was a member of the Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school, was an ordained deacon, and a member of Presbyterian Women, locally and also of the Presbytery. She was a 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star; charter member of the Cultus Club in Early; member of the Women's Auxiliary of Abu Bekr Shrine Temple of Sioux City and member of the Early Library Board.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs Frank (Ruth Ann) Scott of Early and Mrs. Dorothy Swan of Clear Lake;, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
