Cannons Academy
Mrs. Henry Acree
Our community was saddened Tuesday evening, Oct 22nd, when the death angel visited the home of Mr. Henry L. Acree, and took from them the loving wife and mother of the home.
Mrs. Acree was 27 years of age, and had been married just 9 years.
She was a member of Tates Creek Baptist Church, having joined six years ago, and ever since she has been one of the most active members.
She was a kind loving mother, an affectionate wife, and will be missed by all she knew, for she always wore a "sweet smile" on her face, and had a kind word for everyone.
Mrs. Acree leaves to mourn her death a husband four children, as follows: Mozelle, the eight year old crippled daughter and three little sons, Jack, Joe, and James; a father and mother (Mr. and Mrs. Jack Andrews, of Mize) and several brothers and sisters, besides a host of friends.
Mrs. Acree was before her marriage Miss Annie Andrews, of Mize. At the Time of her death all her family were in bed with Spanish influenza, and she took double pneumonia and was only seriously ill for 24 hours, and was conscious up till the last moment.
All the friends of Mrs. Acree wish to extend to her bereaved ones their heartfelt sympathy.
Interment was at at New Hope church. Rev. R. L. Davis made an interesting talk and took for his text Psalm 1:20
