He was a native of Brandenburg, Ky. and a truck driver for Sysco Food Service for 14-1/2 years. He was a member of Valley Masonic Lodge #511, a gospel music singer with Family Circle and a former deacon, choir leader and Sunday School superintendent with Sun Valley and Meade County General Baptist Churches.
Survivors: his wife, the former Lavada Joyce Mudd; a son, Gregory Wayne Bennett; a daughter, Lori Ann Jones; his father, Chester Allen Bennett Sr; two brothers, Steve and Gary Bennett; a sister, Dorothy Thomas; and 4 grandchildren.
Interment will be in Bethany Memorial Cemetery.
