Donald Joe Tinker, 72, of Shalimar, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at his home in Shalimar, surrounded by his loving family. Don was born July 2, 1940, in Blytheville, Ark., to Lela and Homer Tinker.
Don joined the United States Air Force in 1959 and served for 30 years, he retired as a Chief Master Sergeant in 1989. Don loved the Air Force; he served honorably and was very proud of his military career. Later Don spent 10 years working in Civil Service and retired permanently in 2004. In his retired life Don enjoyed golfing, his poker nights and spending time with family and friends. Don's outgoing personality, his charm and sense of humor are something that will not easily be forgotten. He never met a stranger and approached everything in his life with a positive attitude and a smile on his face.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Lela Tinker; brother, Herman Tinker; sisters, Jackie and Betty Tinker and Irene Hardin; and great granddaughter, Breanna Cooper.
Survived by his loving wife of 51 years, three children and their spouses, eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, and many loving nieces and nephews.
