Theron Claire Huggins 93, left this world behind on May 16th, 2013 surrounded by love in his home. He was born April 8, 1920 to Joseph Stephen and Naomi Elizabeth Holman Huggins in West Bear River City, Utah; their eleventh and last child. Claire was educated in local schools, and was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

He walked his path in life with a purposeful stride; doing all he could to improve the world around him and lighten the load for others. He took pride in his work and appearance. Everything he touched was put in order and beautified. Whether it was a garden, an old acquaintance, or a pair of shoes, his passion for perfection left everything in better repair than he found it. He was friendly and compassionate to those in need. His was the voice of strength and encouragement during a crisis. It seemed he could be counted on to turn any bad situation around irrespective of the time, distance, or trouble it might incur. He was thoughtful and sentimental. He valued honesty and relationships. He was the glue that held his family together through frequent visits, phone calls, and reunions. He did not forget anyone. To his parents and siblings, he was the helper. To his friends he was a trusted confidant. To his wife and children he was truly their hero. Claire Huggins was as fine a man as there ever was.

In 1938 he met and married Mary Dawn Jensen. They were later sealed in the Logan L.D.S. Temple. Together they welcomed eight children into their home. They divorced in 1960. Claire married Ellen Jones Little in 1971 and became a step-father to her two boys.

His work endeavors included being a self-employed farmer, a trucker, driving for Greyhound Bus Line, and serving on the Brigham City Police Department. He served his country during World War II in Luzon, Philippines with the Army. He spent many years as a top salesman for Central Chevrolet and New York Life Insurance Company where he made many friendships. We don't know how he found the time to be Superman, but we know he was that, too.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ellen; his children: Max (Dot), Linda Beecher (Kent), Millie Bess (Noel) all of Brigham City, UT; Martha Bullock (Dennis) Providence, UT; Dawn Keller (Richard) Pocatello, ID; Gloria Hellewell (Read) Bountiful, UT; Joe (Kristine), Henderson, NV; Mark (Kari) Salt Lake City, UT; step-son John Little (Helen) Las Vegas, NV; and numerous grand and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his step- son Jim Little; his parents; siblings and their spouses: Sara Myrtle Cloward (Ross), Joseph Ernest Huggins (Andrea), Orvil Elmer Huggins, Maggie Maydell Long (John R.), Alta Eliza Huggins, Naomi Rozella Gunnell (Leo), George Ross Huggins, James Arvin Huggins, David Clifford Huggins (Ruth), and Emery Holman Huggins (Helen).

Services will be at 11:00, Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at the Bear River L.D.S. Church 5870 North 4700 West, Bear River City, Utah.

Visitation will be Monday, May 20, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home located at 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, Utah, and again prior to the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 at the Bear River City L.D.S. Church.

The family extends their thanks to Lance Encanbrack and his team Dan, Mavis, Laurie, Asllin, and Stacey from Intermountain Homecare and Hospice for serving them so compassionately during Claire's last days.
