Mr. Thiebaut graduated from Cadillac High School in 1982 and graduated from Michigan State University in 1986. He then returned to Cadillac to teach at St. Ann Catholic School.
He then went on to Ashland Seminary in Ohio and received his masters degree. He had served as the Judson Baptist Church youth pastor and then was the pastor at Stockbridge First Baptist Church for 15 years.
Mr. Thiebaut was an Eagle Scout and had served on numerous boards through the American Baptist organization. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed sailing, camping and cross-country skiing.
Survivors include his wife, Laura; children, Christopher, Joshua, Rebekah, Abigal and Rachel, all of Stockbridge; parents, Jay and Vonnie Thiebaut Sr. of Cadillac; brother, Thomas (Robyn) Thiebaut of Cadillac; sister, Melissa (Mark) Near of Cadillac; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; lifelong friends, Jim and Jane Armstrong of Petoskey; and special aunt Bertha Thiebaut of Greenville.
