J. R. Hallman Dies In Fayette, Burial Today At Haygood

Fayette - Jim Roe Hallman, 73, operator of the Fayette Mattress Co. for more than 20 years, died at the home of a daughter Mrs. Robert Tobert, in Faytte, Sunday at 6 a.m., following six years of declining health and a stroke suffered Wednesday.

Mr. Hallman, a native of Tuscaloosa County had lived in Fayette for more than 30 years.

Funeral services are to held from Haygood Methodist Church, of which he had been a member for more than 40 years, in Tuscaloosa County, this afternoon at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Hallman is survived by six sons, L.B. Hallman, Willie Hallman, Chester Hallman, and Ester Hallman, Tuscaloosa; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Torbert, Mrs. Willis Watkins and Mrs. Lowell West all of Fayette; 22 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons of Mr. Hallman.
