Eyvonne Pearl Hipple Harlow was born June 6, 1933 in Columbia Hospital, Wilkinsburg, Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania. She passed away May 26, 2013 in Flower Mound Texas where she had moved to be near her niece and brother. Eyvonne grew up in picturesque Oakmont PA where she lived with her parents and five siblings. She graduated from Oakmont High School in 1951. Despite the beauty and charm of Oakmont, Eyvonne moved to California in the mid 1950s. where she spent nearly 50 years living in her home in Woodland Hills, California. At her home she created an oasis in the midst of the city and took great pride in maintaining the beautiful landscape. Although she never married or had children, Eyvonne shared in the joys and trials of raising her nieces and nephews who all turned to her for her wise counsel. Eyvonne was also an avid genealogist who documented her family's history because she felt it was important for her descendants to know the history of her family. She loved all beautiful things and not only collected art and Indian artifacts but she also appreciated the beauty of the written word and was a prolific poet who frequently put her thoughts and emotions to paper. Her lifelong love of the water began with her childhood on the Allegheny River, and lead her to become an avid sailor who at one time kept a sailboat at Marina Del Ray in Los Angeles. For many years she also owned a lake home in Lake Isabella California and enjoyed her time spent on the lake. The majority of her professional life was spent managing the medical practice of her lifelong dear friend Dr. Carol Stoll. Eyvonne shared her life for more than forty years with her beloved companion Betty Welks. Eyvonne, Betty and Carol lived as "The Golden Girls" sharing their lives and caring for one another. Eyvonne was proceeded in death by her father Robert Hipple and mother, Winona Hipple; sisters, Jeannette Maurgerette McCluskey, Alice Elizabeth Vance, Ruth Groover. Eyvonne is survived by her "Dearest One" and beloved companion Betty Welker, her sister Dorothy Mae Watkins, her brother, Richard Hipple, her friend of nearly fifty years Dr. Carol Stoll, and numerous nieces and nephews.
