Mrs. Teresa A. Meade.

Mrs. Teresa A. Meade, who was the wife of Joseph Meade, a highly respected and well known woman, died at her home northeast of Washington at 7:30 o'clock Saturday morning, death terminating an illness of several years' duration.

Mrs. Meade was stricken by paralysis June 27, 1906, and for four years, six months, and thirteen days she had neither been able to walk or talk. In spite of her terrible affliction Mrs. Meade was patient, bearing her long suffering with remarkable fortitude and courage.

Mrs. Meade was a daughter of James and Rebecca McClellan. She was born November 27, 1845, in Barr township, Daviess county. In November, 1846, she was married to Joseph H. Meade. To this union twelve children were born, six having died while young. The surviving children are James Meade, county commissioner-elect; Charles, Alfred and Elwood Meade and two daughters, Lillie Meade, who lives at home, and Mrs. Elwood Williams, city. Besides the husband and children, one brother, Benjamin McClellan of Union, Pike county, one sister, Mrs. Joshua Shaw of Washington, and eleven grandchildren survive her.

About 1860 Mrs. Meade united with the Christian church at Bethany and she continued in that faith until death. She was a loving mother, a devoted wife and good neighbor. The funeral will take place at Bethany Monday at 11 o'clock. Burial in the church cemetery.
