"Aunt Caroline

To Everyone"

Age 94, a lifelong resident of New Castle, Delaware passed away peacefully on May 30, 2013. Caroline was born on August 30, 1918 and was the last descendent of her parents Frank and Emilia Covelli. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Edith Di Amario, Assunta (Cindy) Sulpizi, Mary Ioannoni, her brothers Ferdinand Marcozzi and Emmett M. Covelli as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her nieces, Frances Covelli, with whom she lived for three years, Patricia Covelli-Ettinger (Chuck), Joan Marcozzi-Freebery (Butch), and Louise Marcozzi, her nephews James Sulpizi and Frank Sulpizi and many great-nieces, nephews and cousins.

Caroline was employed at the Wilmington Fibre Specialty Company for more than 30 years and retired at age 71. Caroline's greatest joy and specialty was baking her Italian cookies, pizzelles, Italian rum cake and Easter bread. She lovingly made trays of cookies for all family weddings, gatherings and holidays as well as homemade birthday cakes. She enjoyed cooking and kept family traditions alive her whole life. Caroline was a life-long faithful parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle Church, New Castle, and a member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality. She was also a lifetime member of St. Anthony's Club in New Castle, where she proudly marched in all St. Anthony Day parades until she became ill at age 89. She devotedly prepared the St. Anthony's medals with ribbons to distribute during the parade every year. Caroline was a loving Aunt and dear friend. She will be sadly missed, especially by her family and many friends who dearly loved her. She will live on in their memory as a woman of faith, who loved her family, and she has touched the lives of all who knew her. She has left her imprint on all of us, and will always be remembered as a very special Aunt. The family wishes to thank Atlantic Shores RHC and Staff, especially, Linda Bellew, and Compassionate Care Hospice of Delaware, especially Ranae Fisher for the care they provided Aunt Caroline.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 5th & Harmony Sts., New Castle on Tuesday morning, June 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the church from 10-11 am on Tuesday morning. Entombment in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to St. Peter the Apostle Church, 521 Harmony St., New Castle, DE 19720, or Compassionate Care Hospice, 201 East DuPont Blvd., Millsboro, DE 19966.
