Farmers Union Insurance agent, died
Saturday, July 26th. The funeral was
Tuesday, July 29th at 10:30 a.m. in Zion
Lutheran Church, Mohall. Burial was at
Community Cemetery, Mohall.
Mr. Gullickson was born Nov. 10, 1898 at
Lake Preston, S.D. He attended Nettleton's
Business College in Sioux Falls, S.D.
He came to Norma in 1924 to work as a
harvest hand and returned there to live in
1927. He married Clara Johnson July 30,
1927, They farmed near Norma for 17
years. Mr. Gullickson also worked as
county supervisor for the AAA, a federal
farm program initiated in the 1930's, and
for its loan program. In 1944 the
Gullicksons moved to Mohall where Mr.
Gullickson was an insurance agent for 25
years. For the last 16 years, they spent
winters in Mesa, Ariz.
Mr. Gullickson had been a member of
the Evanger Lutheran Church at Norma,
and of Zion church for which he served on
the board of trustees and the building
committee. He was secretary for the
Renville County Farmers Union for 29
years and served on the board of the
Renville-Bottineau Memorial Hospital at
Mohall.
Survivors include his wife; daughters,
Mrs. Clifford (Marilyn) Nelson, Minot,
and Mrs. Paul (Beverly) Tullio, Glen
Ellyn, Ill., five grandchildren; brothers,
Leo and Arnold, both Lake Preston.
