Charles H. Wetzel, age 79 years died Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Daniel Bates, Williamstown.

He was a native of Northumberland County but since the death of his wife eighteen years ago, he had made his home with his children.

Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Sidney Neidig of Millersburg; Mrs. Lillian Foley, Sunbury; Mrs. Sadie Fromme and Mrs. Della Bates, Williamstown and Mrs. Mazie Umholtz of Sunbury. Twenty-three grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held from the Bates residence on Tuesday afternoon and interment was made in the Williamstown Cemetery.

Charles H. Wetzel, 79, a resident of Williamstown for a number of years, died at his home in West Market street (sic), Saturday morning at 6:10, death having been caused by an illness of complications over a period of six months.

Having been born in Pitman, he was a son of the late Charles and Hannah Wetzel. Forty years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Amelia Klinger who preceded him in death eighteen years ago. Five daughters, Mrs. Daniel Bates, Williamstown; Mrs. Thomas Foley, Sunbury; Mrs. George Neidig, Millersburg; Mrs. Harry Umholtz, Sunburgy; and Mrs. Emma Fromme, Wililamstown (sic), survive. He attended and was a member of the Williamstown Lutheran Church.

Funeral services were held from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Daniel Bates, 417 W. Market Strete (sic), Williamstown, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Spencer Aungst, officiated. Burial was in the Fairview cemetery (sic).
