William Howard Jayne, 93, of Middlewood, passed away October 15, 1984, at the Dawson Memorial Hospital.
Born at Middlewood on April 12, 1891, he was the son of the late Daniel and Ada (Fancy) Jayne.
He was the oldest resident of Middlewood and a member of the United Church and a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Mabel V. (Gaetz); one son, Holley, Middlewood; and four daughters, Cevilla (Mrs. Art Racioppa), Toronto; Marie (Mrs. Burton Bolivar), Middlewood; Doris Langille, Boston; and Lyndell (Mrs. Paul McDonald), Toronto. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Ian; and two brothers, Willis and Joseph and was the last surviivng member of his immediate family.
Funeral services were held in the Middlewood United Church on October 18, 1984 with Pastor John Pringle officiating and interment in the church cemetery.
The pallbearers were seven of his grandsons, Walter Langille, Billerica, Mass., (Honourary Pallbearer); David Racioppa, Toronto; Michael MacDonald, Toronto; Danny and Andrew Jayne, Middlewood; and Ian and Dale Bolivar of Middlewood.
