Mamie was the elder daughter of Mary Amanda Gibons and Pennsylvania state senator John Dodson Stiles. She had a twin brother named Clarence Herman Stiles.

Her first husband was John Daniel Uhrich, an attorney. They married in Allentown, PA at the P.E. Grace Church on 21 June 1883. The couple honeymooned in Newport, Rhode Island and were divorced on 24 May 1887.

Divorce: See Uhrich v. Uhrich. There were charges of desertion and the marriage was declared wholly null and void. Mary Amanda Uhrich was the libellant and was hereby divorced and forever separated from John D. Uhrich. The costs of the proceeding were to be paid by the respondent, John D. Uhrich, who had requested a jury trial, which was denied.

She then married her first cousin, Charles John McKee, a druggist, at the Grace Episcopal Church in Allentown, PA on August 28, 1890. The couple honeymooned in Texas, moved to Nebraska, and their children were; Clarence Stiles, Blanche Gibons, and Marie Louise McKee.
