"Frances May Cooper was born June 4, 1857, at Red Wing, Minnesota. She was the second child of Harrison and Lydia Cooper, deceased.

She was married to James B. Pugh on April 5, 1876. Died February 7, 1924, at 8 o'clock p.m., at the age of 66 years 8 months and 8 days. Mr. and Mrs. Pugh were the parents of six children, four sons and two daughters. The daughters died in infancy, and one son, Benjamin H. Pugh, died April 13, 1913 after reaching manhood's estate.

She leaves to mourn her death her husband and three sons, Franklin Pugh of Courtland, Indiana; Jesse L. Pugh and Clyde L. Pugh of Williamsport; besides eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and one brother, Jesse Cooper, of Danville, Illinois, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted from the home last Saturday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, Rev. Israel Hatton officiating. Interment in Highland Cemetery." - Williamsport, Indiana, February 15, 1924
