Phyllis M. Young Battle Creek Phyllis M. Young, 87, of Battle Creek passed away Thursday April 4, 2013 at NorthPointe Woods Assisted Living. She was born on March 23, 1926 in Widnes, England to Charles and Hilda (Layshley) Thomas. Phyllis was united in marriage to Edward A. Young on September 5, 1945, he preceded her in death on March 2, 1999. Phyllis is survived by a son, Alan E. (Genevieve) Young, of Battle Creek, daughters, Gillian M. (Tom) Ebeling, of Battle Creek and Denise A. Young, of Portage, three grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Alan Thomas. Phyllis was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, the St. Thomas Altar Chapter, St. Mary's Circle, and the Overseas Club. She enjoyed knitting and gardening. Family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm Monday April 8, 2013 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas Episcopal Church with Fr. Brian Coleman officiating. Interment will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
