From contributor #47400527:
"Her birthdate is listed in the records as 2 August 1859, but that is actually the date she was adopted by the Billings from Boston Baby House.
She was found as a "female foundling" on the steps of 86 Austin in Worcester in June 1859 and taken to the Alms House in Tewksbury.
Her death record lists parents as "Billings" and Anne Morse. It is unclear if James Billings was her biological father.
Her husband was William C. Ovenden of Worcester and later West Boylston, but I haven't been able to find where he is buried. They may have actually divorced because Effie spent 3 years in jail for petty larceny and escaping from prison.
She was rearrested from her prison break after she ran off with a 'man who was not her husband'."
