Gary Gene Brazle, 74, passed away peacefully at home on June 3, 2013. Gary was born in Vandalia, IL on May 20, 1939 to Loren Merle Brazle and Bernice Stradley Pennington. He grew up in Vandalia, graduating from high school there. After graduation Gary enlisted into the United States Air Force.

While serving in the Air Force, he traveled abroad for 16 years as a Survival Instructor. After returning to the United States, he moved to Spokane, Washington. It was there that he met and married Lynne Howard on April 4, 1970.

He began a career in the construction industry and became a very accomplished carpenter working on commercial homes and interior carpentry. They lived in Decatur, IL and Valparaiso, IN; however the majority of his life, 20 plus years, was spent in Reno, NV until his retirement in 2007. In 2010 Gary and Lynne moved to Pocatello to be closer to family.

Outside of spending time with his family, his life-long passion was fishing. The sport always brought a smile to his face.

Gene is survived by; his wife, Lynne Brazle, Pocatello; daughter, Jennifer Howard, Pocatello; son, Jeffrey Howard, Booneville, Arkansas; granddaughter, Emily Roberts, Pocatello; grandson, Drew Roberts, also known as Gary's "Little Buddy", Pocatello; grandson, Geoffrey Roberts, Colorado Springs, CO; grandson, Wesley Howard, Pocatello; granddaughter, Ashley Cowell, Chula Vista, CA; grandson Brandon Wells, Las Vegas, NV; and great-granddaughter, Penny Lou Roberts, Colorado Springs, CO.

He was preceded in death by; his parents, Loren Merle Brazle and Bernice Stradley Pennington; and a daughter, Kimberly Grace Brazle.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Alliance Hospice; Mikel McBride, Teresa Blackhawk, Annetta Johansen, Donna, Kelly and Francis. To the staff and physicians of the Portneuf Cancer Center; and to Savon Pharmacy of Pocatello; Thank you for all your wonderful service, care and warmth.
