PITTSFIELD April 17-Funeral services for Edson O. Smith were held Sunday afternoon at the Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel in Pittsfield, with the Rev Wentworth Burwick of Waterville officiating.

Burial will be in the Greenlawn cemetery in Clinton later in the spring.

Mr. Smith, 66, died at a Hartland hospital early Friday morning after several months of ill health.

Born in Houlton November 11, 1893, he was the son of Elmer and Winnifred (Whitcomb) Smith.

Mr. Smith had been a resident of Waterville for the past year. He lived in Clinton for 10 years, previously living for several years in Alaska where he was employed in construction work.

He attended the Assembly of God Church in Waterville.

Survivors besides his widow Lenora Smith, are four daughters, Mrs. Betty Ventura of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Robena Richard of Olatha, Kan., Mrs. Lucille Leahy and Mrs. Lorraine Cress of Albany, N.Y.; a step-son, the Rev. Robert Dearborn of Centerville, N.B. and a step-daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Bainbridge of Mabooni, East Africa: two brothers, Beecher Smith of Pittsfield and Fred Smith of Westfield; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
