Marion Katherine Cole Galbraith, of Hanover, departed this life June 12.

She was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Alice Anchors Sheldon.

Mrs. Galbraith attended Poughkeepsie Schools and graduated from Vassar Brothers Hospital in 1929 receiving her registered nurse’s license. She worked private duty nursing and at Vassar College. Mrs. Galbraith retired from IBM in 1972 after 25 years of service as an industrial nurse. She served on the board of directors of Vassar Bros. Home for Women, and volunteered with the New York Department of Aging in their telephone contact program for senior citizens. Mrs. Galbraith was a life-long member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Poughkeepsie, where she served on the vestry and as both Junior and Senior Wardens. Mrs. Galbraith was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Hanover as well as the ECW of All Saints.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Robert M. Cole and Alexander Galbraith, and is survived by one daughter, Beverly Cole Millett of Hanover; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and one sister, Ruth Tiger of Poughkeepsie, NY.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Sheldon and William Sheldon.
