Pearl M. Layton, 93, of Bowling Green, Ohio, died Wednesday (November 23, 2005) at Blakely Care Center. She was born September 7, 1912 in West Sunbury, Pa. to Joseph and Laura (Weigle) McCaslin. She married Ralph S. Layton on September 1, 1936 and he preceded her in death on January 30, 1996.
Mrs. Layton was a accountant for Tom Henry Chevrolet in Bakerstown, Pa., Baierl Chevrolet in Wexford, Pa., and Murray American Motors in Delray Beach, Fl. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Eastern Star Northwood Herrington chapter #356, Mary Magdalene Rebekah Lodge #365, both in Pittsburg. She was an avid Pittsburg Pirate fan and had played baseball as a young girl.
Surviving are daughters: Janice Dunlap and Layne Layton, both of Bowling Green, a son: Bob of Bozeman, Mt. Four grandchildren: N. Leigh, Craig and Grant Dunlap and Justin VanHerwaarden and 3 great-grandchildren: Akiva and Noa Miller, and Auralia Dunlap. She was preceded in death by 7 brothers and 3 sisters.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday (November 27, 2005) at 3:00pm in the Dunn Funeral Home. Rev. Thomas Gaiser will officiate. Burial is in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 4 to 7pm in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the First Presbyterian Church or Home Instead.
