Benjamin Thayer, who died yesterday ... aged 80 years, was one of the oldest native residents of Worcester.
He was born here June, 1809, son of Benjamin and Rachel (Wales) Thayer.
For a great many years he was engaged in the victualing business, for some time in company with Bemjamin Lewis, and latterly as a dealer in small fruits.
He was a member of the Salem Street Church.
He leaves a wife and one son, Joseph B. Thayer, with whom he was connected in business.
He was a man of upright character, respected by all who knew him....
