A 32nd degree Mason, he was a member of numerous Masonic lodges, including Joseph Lodge 81 of Joseph, Oregon, Al Kader Shrine Temple of Portland, Ancient Order of Camel Herders, Kerak Temple of the Shrine, and VFW Post 9211.
Survivors included his widow, Vashti; a stepdaughter, Vicki Ervin of Portland; mother, Clara Denning of North Powder, Oregon; and a brother, Jerry Atteberry of Fair Oaks, California.
