Reba Louella Stewart was born in Lavaca, Arkansas on October 4, 1926 to Archie and Hassie Douglas. She passed away peacefully on June 6, 2013 at the age of 86.
At the loss of her own mother at the age of 14, Reba along with her older brother, helped raise all of their younger siblings. She then raised 6 children of her own as well as helping with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. For the past 40 years Reba has been a caregiver to her paralyzed daughter Shirlee. She has always been "Mother" to so many, including those who considered her their second mother.
Reba is preceded in death by a infant daughter Dorothy Faye, two son's Larry and Danny Stewart and grandson Jeffery Alexander, siblings Treba, Ruby, Bonnie, Sherrell, Norman, Ernest and Ronnie. She is survived by daughters Shirlee Alexander, Debra Cowden, Stephanie Webster and son Allen Stewart all of Merced. She has 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother Monty Douglas as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly.
