Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Beard Cross, age 77, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013 in the chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home, with Dr. John Clarke officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Cross died Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born in Jackson, TN to the late Olowish Beard and Grace Jones Beard. She was retired from Jackson Utility Division (now JEA) and was a member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church. She was married to Mr. Harold T. Cross, who passed away in November of 2010.
Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Cross, who died in 2009 and two brothers, Jack Beard and Gene Beard.
Surviving are her sons, Joel Fesmire (Kim) of Hixson, TN and Vince Fesmire of Jackson; her daughters, Charlotte Drinkard (Frankie) of Gadsden, TN and Genie Kolb (David) of Jackson; a sister, Faye White (Dick) of Adamsville, TN; her grandchildren, Aaron Kolb, Stacey Sawyer, Kelley Fesmire, Boone Fesmire, Lauren Cross and David Cross, all of Jackson, and Paige Fesmire and Daniel Fesmire, both of Hixson, TN and three great-grandchildren.
The family requests any memorials be directed to Oak Grove United Methodist Church.
