Donald was a son of the late Dorsey Leo and Ina Catherine (Thompson) Moreland. He was also preceded in death by six brothers, Charles Moreland, Ernest Moreland, Arthur Moreland, Robert Moreland, Russell Moreland, and James Moreland; and four sisters, Crema Mahaffey, Beulah Boyle, Juanita Moreland and Mildred Kitzmiller.
He worked as a dairy farmer and strip mining dozer operator. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and storyteller.
He was a member of the Loch Lynn Church of God and witnessed for the Lord during his stay at the nursing home. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Arletha; three sons; three daughters; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two sisters.
