Mrs. Reba Marie Curry Abernathy, age 88, of North Wilkesboro died Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Woltz Hospice Home.

A graveside service will be held Saturday 11:00 AM, June 8, 2013 in Mountlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Bud Shepherd and Rev. Gene Shepherd officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home prior to the service.

Mrs. Abernathy was born November 23, 1924 in Wilkes County to Charlie and Bertha Shew Curry. Before retiring, she worked at Ithaca Industries and was a member of Fairplains Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Beulah Hayes and Myrtle Yarboro.

She is survived by: one son, Donald Bauguess and wife, Wanda of North Wilkesboro; two grandchildren, Todd Goulds, Bradley Goulds; one great-granddaughter, Peyton Goulds; two sisters, Lois Hayes of North Wilkesboro and Esther Steelman of Lexington.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
