His marriage to Linda Carol Thibodeau was May 22, 1971, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Warren.
Dan attended St. Johns Lutheran Church, Capac where he was a youth leader for 17 years, and Mount Berry United Methodist Church, Rome, GA.
Dan, also known as "Monty" to his work friends, was a 1968 Lincoln High School graduate. He worked nearly 30 years for the Detroit News and then Free Press before moving out of state. Dan worked for a few other newspapers across the country before his employment with Gainesville Times, Gainesville Georgia which he retired from in 2012, due to health reasons.
He was a big NASCAR fan and enjoyed playing with his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to Linda, his wife of 42 years, are:

…seven grandchildren, Evelyn, Joseph, Johnathon, Maris, Sylvia, Oliver and Mabel;

Visitation for family and friends of Daniel were held on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Capac.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013, with 10:00 a.m. visiting at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Capac. Rev. George Hockley, interim pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in Capac Cemetery, Mussey Township.
Memorials are suggested to "Wishes of the Family".
