Rose E. Nefsey, 88, passed June 7, 2013 at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home where she had been a resident.

The funeral service will be 7 p.m. Monday, June 10 at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, Watertown. A calling hour will precede the service from 6-7 p.m.

Burial will take place at Brookside Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Born on October 26, 1925 in Evans Mills, NY, daughter of Albert Countryman and Stella Goodridge, she graduate from Evans Mills High School in 1944.

Mrs. Nefsey worked at NY Air Brake during WWII. She later worked for the Jefferson County Department of Social Services, in the accounting department, retiring in 1986. She also ran the General Store located across from Brookside Cemetery for several years.

She married Clifford Nefsey in 1946. Mr. Nefsey worked at NY Air Brake and passed in 1978

Among her survivors are two sons, James Nefsey, Oneonta, David Nefsey Sr., Back River; a granddaughter, Michael Cooke, Carthage; a grandson, David Nefsey Jr., Watertown; five great grandchildren, Aaron Stevens, Dylan Cooke, Nicholas Nefsey, Gauge Murphy and Arianna Murphy.

A brother Harold Countryman passed away before her.
