In 1946 Jimmy purchased the Hotel Lincoln in Chambersburg, managing it until his unexpected death.
He was a member of the B.P.O.E No. 600, the Chambersburg Club, Kearney Lodge No. 159, Knights of Pythias and the Good Will Fire Company.
Jimmy was survived by his mother (Bertha A. Karper Nitterhouse), his wife Margaret (Peg) Warner Nitterhouse, 3 young daughters (Susanne, Sherry and Peggy Lynn), sisters Mary Jane Johnston and Louise Hair, brothers T.K (Pete) and Kenneth.
