His wife, Edna Dunkle Nitterhouse, preceded him in death, Feb. 25, 1967.
A U.S. Army veteran of WW II, he was member of Detrich-Brechbill Post, American Legion, St. Thomas. He was a mason contractor all of his adult life.
Surviving are two sons, Ray Nitterhouse, Muncie, Ind.; Joe C., Wayne Ave.; one step-son, Charles Patterson, 425 S. Second St.; eight grandchildren; one brother, Howard Lee Nitterhouse, Valley Stream, L.I., NY; two sisters, Katherine Heckman, White Deer and Bernice (Mrs. Cecil) Bly, Strasburg, VA.
