Enda Dunkle Nitterhouse was born in Chambersburg, the daughter of George F. and Susan (Appleby) Dunkle. She was a member of the King Street United Brethren Church and the Charles M. Nitterhouse Post No. 1599, VFW Auxiliary.
Surviving were her husband Russel, sons Charles W. Patterson and Joe C. Nitterhouse, step-son C. Ray Nitterhouse of Muncie, Indiana; 5 grandchildren, brother Charles W. and sisters Mabel Helm of Washington, D.C. and Mrs. H. D. Naugle of Chambersburg.

Edna passed away at the Polyclinic Hospital in Harrisburg after a long illness.
