Paul married Arlene Shadle in 1943. Three years later, while on duty in Europe with the U.S. Army, Paul became ill. He was transported home and died a year later in Chambersburg, of pulmonary tuberculosis. He had served 19 months overseas, attached tot he Eighth Air Force.

He was a member of the second Lutheran Church, the Burt J. Asper Post No. 4 American Legion of Chambersburg and the General Maurice Ross Post D.A.V., Chapter No. 14. of Denver., Colorado. Before entering service, he was employed by T.B. Woods and Sons Company.

He was survived by his wife, father and siblings Robert, Earl and Thelma.

Gravesite Details

Paul is buried with his widow's family, the Shadles. Their names are on the other side of the headstone.
