Harvey, Sr. was the son of Charlie Scott McFadden and Lucy I. (Meade) McFadden. Charlie and Lucy had 5 children, Harvey Gene, Sr., C. J., Billy Lee, Dallas and Troy McFadden.

Harvey Sr., married Sharon Robinson. They had 5 children, Myra Dawn, Matthew Todd, Harvey Gene, Jr., Lisa Karen and Christina Noel McFadden.

Harvey Gene McFadden passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at his residence.
He was born in Dunbar, Va., a son of the late Charlie Scott McFadden and Lucy Meade McFadden. He had lived in the Cleveland area for the past 30 years and was a retired employee of Sprint as a technician. He was a U.S. Army veteran and attended the Revival Center in Bristol, Virginia. He enjoyed golfing and gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, C.J. McFadden and Billy Lee McFadden.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Robinson McFadden of the home; five children, Myra Dawn Smith of Charlottesville, Va., Matthew Todd McFadden of Harrisonburg, Va., Harvey Gene McFadden of Chicago, Lisa Karen Woods of Sugar Grove, Va., and Christina Noel Byrd of Blacksburg, Va.; two brothers, Dallas McFadden of Bristol, Tennessee, and Troy McFadden of Bristol, Virginia; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services for Harvey Gene McFadden will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Lyons Smith and the Rev. Leo Rhymer officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Frost Funeral Home in Abingdon.
Active pallbearers will be family and friends.
