Rose Marie was the second of three (3)
children born to Marshall Winfrey,
and Geneva Oliver-Winfrey. Her
grandparents were Ari and Annie
Stinson-Oliver, also John B. Winfrey,
and Mattie Thurman-Winfrey.

Siblings were Donald and John Winfrey.
All of Rose Marie's immediate family
members preceded her in rest.

Rose Marie was ultimately raised by
her maternal grandmother, Annie
Stinson-Oliver, in the city of Detroit.
She received her education in the Detroit
Public School System, graduating from
Denby High School in 1954. She
furthered her education by attending
the Dental Hygiene Associate of Science
Degree Program at the Wayne County
Community College District, Detroit, Michigan.

She married Harold Warren Watkins
in Cook County, Illinois in 1959.
Sadly the marriage ended in divorce
after 29 years; however Rose and Harold
remained very close friends.

After working in the dental field, she
settled on a career with the US Postal
Service in 1967, in Detroit, Michigan;
starting as a Distribution Clerk, then
received promotion to Supervisor, Mails
at the USPS Bulk Mail Facility in Allen Park,
Michigan. She retired from the U.S. Postal
Service with 30 years of dedicated service.

She married John Lee Jones in 1990. He
passed away in 1994.

She was a very outgoing friendly person
who never met a stranger. Rose loved
to travel and just be on the go. She
knew so many people based on her active
involvement as Church Secretary, and
through her Postal 'family.' She's
hosted countless Breakfasts & backyard
Bar-B-Ques for friends and her 'adopted'
families.

Rose Marie died very unexpectedly from
pneumonia while in hospital.

She leaves to treasure her memory and
friendship, Sandi Daniels, Nathalie
Boxley, and a host of other Postal
Family members, and dear friends.
