Enos Armstrong, 80, of Wyandotte, died Monday at Grove General Hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Seneca (Mo.) Assembly of God Church with Rev. Denny Sikes officiating. Burial will be at Council House Cemetery near Grove, with military rites conducted by Northeastern Oklahoma Veterans' Funeral Detail. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Campbell Biddlecome Funeral Home of Seneca, Mo. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7 p.m., tonight by the Frisco Masonic Lodge No. 24 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home in Seneca, Mo., with visitation afterward. He was born Jan. 24, 1916 in Wyandotte, and worked for the Route Manufacturing Company, Baxter Springs, Kan. and the Crane Company in Miami for several years. He moved to Newkirk in 1964, where he worked for Chilocco Indian School with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, retiring in 1980. He returned to Wyandotte in 1981. He married Opal Thompson on July 29, 1948 in Bentonville, Ark. He was an Army veteran of World War II, receiving the Purple Heart, an Oak Leaf Cluster and numerous other medals. He was a member of Seneca, Mo. Assembly of God Church and the Seneca-Cayuga tribe. He was also a member of Frisco Masonic Lodge No. 24, Fairland and the Purple Heart Chapter No. 653, Miami. Survivors include his wife, Opal; two sons, Darrell Armstrong of McAlester and Ricky Armstrong of Wyandotte; six daughters, Wanda Armstrong, Kansas City, Mo., Beverly Waldeck, Arkansas City, Kan., Kathryn Schaefer ad Marilyn Convirs, both of Wyandotte, Kay Beetem of Miami, and Joyce Testerman of Joplin, Mo. Also, a sister, Mary Peterson of Miami; 14 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be George Thompson, Bob Armstrong, Doug Armstrong, Craig Thompson, Kenneth Whitehill and David Whitehill.
