Robert M. Hubler, 77, of Rice Lake died June 1 at his home. A Mass of Christian burial was Monday morning at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rice Lake, with the Revs. James Powers and John Spanjers officiating. Interment with military rites accorded by the Rice Lake American Legion Post was at the church cemetery.

Mr. Hubler was born Dec. 21, 1927 in Evanston, Ill., to Robert and Vera (McWilliams) Hubler. He graduated from Whitefish Bay High School in Whitefish Bay and then attended Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. He served in the Navy from 1945-1947 and then attended the UW-Madison. On Aug. 26, 1950 Mr. Hubler married Shirley Baumann in Wauwatosa. The couple moved to Rice Lake in 1967, where Mr. Hubler worked for Triple A Mobile Homes until 1969. He then owned and operated Rice Lake Mobile Homes until 1982. The couple returned to Rice Lake in April 2003 after living in Vero Beach, Fla., for 5 years.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; four sons, John of Mound, Minn., Robert Jr. of Rock Springs, Wyo., Thomas of Rhinelander and Paul of New Richmond; two daughters, Rep. Mary Hubler of Rice Lake and Ellen Domask of Mantorville, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; and a sister, Ann Filburn of Vero Beach.
