A member of King Street United Brethren Church, Marie taught the Mustard Seed Sunday School class for 27 years. She also taught the high school Fidelity and Sunshine classes. Marie was a past president of the church's Women's Missionary Association and had been a secretary of the Pennsylvania Conference Branch of WMA.
Marie served as a member of the Gideons and Piney Mountain auxiliaries, AARP (Chapter 2287) and the Women's Christian Temperance Union.
After graduating from Shippensburg Normal School (now known as Shippensburg University), Marie taught in 2 Chambersburg elementary schools (Garfield and Greenvillage).
Her beloved husband Garnet Sites, passed less than two months prior to Marie's passing.
Marie was survived by her only child, Dorothy Sites Wagner, 2 grandsons and 2 sisters (Helen Helman and Arlene Foust).
