Abstract of Robert Crawford's Will, Columbia County, GA, written and signed by him on September 30, 1820. Probated: February 18, 1823. Sons, Nathan and Edward swore in open court on December 18, 1822: "this writing contains the true last Will of the within named Robert Crawford, deceased"
Wife, Elizabeth was given any furniture she wanted, horses, hogs, cows and calves she wanted.
Eight children were given each 1/8 of the property that had not been claimed by wife, plus some money in different amounts. Children named were: David M., Joel, Nathan Wm. H., Charles A., Edward M., Polly (Mary) Walker and Anne.
He wanted all property sold after the death of wife and divided into 9 parts with children, Anne and Charles getting 3 of the 9 parts.
Robert named three of his sons as his Executors: David M. Crawford, Nathan Crawford and Edward M. Crawford.
Note: Since daughters, Frances and Elizabeth were not named in the Will, it is assumed they had already died.
