Arnold SHELBY
EARTH (Special) – Services for Arnold SHELBY, 75, of Earth will be 10 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe VERNON, pastor, officiating.
Burial in Earth Memorial Cemetery will be directed by Parsons-Ellis Funeral Home.
SHELBY died at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday in Methodist Hospital in Lubbock after a sudden illness.
He was born in Reed, Okla., and moved to Earth in 1936. He married Ruby BIRGE Jan. 3, 1940, in Clovis, N.M. He was a farmer and a member of Masonic Lodge 1277 AF&AM in Earth, where he had served as master.
Survivors include his wife and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Richard EDDINGS, Phillip HABERER, Junior LITTLETON, Roosevelt HOUSTON, Billy Homer HODGE and Randy BILLS.
The family suggests memorials to Earth Memorial Cemetery Association.
[Arnold was the Husband of Ruby Birge Shelby. They had one child named Wilson Kelly born 4 Dec 1941 in New Mexico and died 24 Jul 1942 in Los Angles, Calif. and is buried in Calif.
Arnold was the son of Moses Kelly Shelby JR. and Lola Virgina Daughery who are both buried in Reed Cemetery in Greer Co. Oklahoma. He had 4 sisters 1 half-sister and 3 half-brothers. He was a large farmer in the Earth, Lamb Co. area and loved and respected by anyone he came in contact with. He was my uncle and I could not have asked for better.]
