Mr. Roberts was born November 9, 1915 in Denton, Texas to A C Roberts Sr. and Jimmie Clara Cearley Roberts. He was a painter and carpenter for Foremost Dairies and retired in 1968 due to ill health. He married Edith Edna Kniffen, December 11, 1938 in Abilene, moving back to Texas from New York that same year. He also was a Baptist minister in the Abilene area. He attended Texas A & M and the Bible Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth. He was a veteran of World War II. Fishing was his favorite past time.
Survivors include his wife: one son, Jimmy Paul Roberts of Gatesville; two daughters, Patricia Payne of Phoenix, Arizona, and Melissa Ann Neff of Dallas; 3 sisters, Mrs. John Schmidt of Glendora, California, Mrs. Clara Grace Maddux of Redding, California, Ruby Lee Brown of Haskell, TX and four grandchildren.
