November 18, 1918 - May 28, 2013
Resident of Santa Rosa, CA
Carmen "Ilang" M. Alcones joined her Heavenly Father on May 28, 2013. She was 94 years old and is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Henry Alcones and 6 children: Violeta Baker, Carmencita Ignacio, Gilmore Alcones, Revelino Alcones, Virginia Formosa and the late Virgilio "Al" Alcones along with 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Born in the Philippines in 1918, Carmen immigrated to the United States on September 19, 1966, with her family and resided in Santa Rosa, CA. She worked at an apple cannery in Sebastopol, CA, while nurturing her chicken and farm animals and vegetable garden, until her retirement. She was a dedicated wife, loving mother and grandma often hosting friends and family gatherings with her delicious and freshest dishes. For many summers, her farm was a summer retreat for her grandchildren who Carmen cared for along with her late sister, Leoncia Z. Mendoza. We will miss her laughter and love in our lives but we are comforted knowing that her Spirit continues to live in all of us.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing at 4:00PM, with a Vigil from 5:00PM - 8:30PM both on Friday, June 14th and to the Funeral Service on Saturday, June 15th, at 10:00AM, all at Holy Angels Funeral & Cremation Center, 1051 Harder Road Hayward, CA, 94542. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
