Mrs. Magdalena Woehl was born 4 July 1856 in Kassel, Sud Russland, as the daughter of Georg Jakob Grosshans and his wife Elisabeth Ketterling. She was raised in the Reformed faith.

On the 12th of December in the year 1873 she entered into holy matrimony with Jakob Vielhauer, and she immigrated with him to America in the year 1874 and came to Tyndall, South Dakota, where they settled on a farm.

God blessed their marriage and gave them 9 children, of which 4 preceded their mother in death: one child as an infant, Pauline at the age of 14 years, Mrs. Christina Dockter, and Mrs. Karolina Hochhalter at the age of 57 years. On the 29th of December in the year 1909 the father, Jakob Vielhauer, died at the age of 56 years.

On the 12th of November in the year 1910 the newly deceased entered into a second marriage with Peter Wahl of Menno, South Dakota, and she lived with him in Menno until the time of his death on 11 July 1916. Peter Wahl died at the age of 61 years.

On 7 June 1919 she entered into another marriage with Jakob Woehl, and she lived with him in Wishek, North Dakota, until he died on 11 November 1933. She was faithful in caring for her husband, who lived to the age of 84 years, up until the time of his death.

After the death of her husband the wife lived in their home in Wishek. In her last years she suffered tremendously from diabetes. Her condition worsened in the last 6 weeks, during which time she was confined to bed. Her only longing was to be allowed to go home to her savior Jesus Christ, to whose grace she had entrusted her body and soul. This longing was fulfilled on 29 September 1935 at 3:30 in the morning, when she was allowed to pass away. Her complete age was 79 years, 2 months, and 25 days.

The departed one is survived and mourned by Katharina Meidinger of Zeeland; Friedrich Vilhauer of Zeeland; August Vilhauer of Wishek; Eva Meier of Canada; Calvin Vielhauer of Wishek; as well as by 57 grandchildren, 106 great-grandchildren, and a large circle of friends.

The memorial service took place before a large number of people on 30 September in the Reformed Church in Wishek. It was led by Pastor G.H.E. Kampchen.
