On Sunday, June 9, 2013 God called His child to her eternal home. Myrtle was born September 7, 1942 to A.D. and Bernethia Burton in Picayune.

She was educated in Picayune Schools and graduated from Carver High in 1963. Myrtle was previously employed by D.H. Holmes Department Store and Schwegmann Supermarket. She also worked as a child care provider.

Myrtle was married to the late Haywood Rhone and was a resident of New Orleans until Hurricane Katrina. She was a member of Greater Evergreen Baptist Church in New Orleans.
