She attended Incarnate Word University where she received her Bachelors in Nursing and was a registered nurse at Audie Murphy V.A. Hospital in San Antonio, then worked at Kerrville State Hospital, retiring in 2000.
She was active in the Pipe Creek Community Church, having been a pastor's wife for eight years. She also ministered in Oklahoma with her husband to several different tribes of American Indians.
Barbara is preceded in death by her son David Louis Rogers; brother Joseph Harold Holtz; and parents.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, LeRoy Rogers of Pipe Creek; son Steven Marcus Rogers of Pipe Creek; and grandchildren Timothy, Jonathan, Matthew, Ashly and Stephanie.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 pm, Thursday June 13, 2013 at Grimes Funeral Chapels.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Friday, June 14, 2013 at Grimes Funeral Chapels with Pastor David Busby officiating. Burial will follow at Pipe Creek Cemetery.
