Daniel McKeever "Mack" Raulston (Sr.) was born June 24, 1882 in Marion County, Tennessee, the first of three children born to John Crittendon Raulston and Matilda Ann Mitchell. Daniel's youngest sibling, a brother, and his mother both died during child birth on October 20, 1886. The following year his father married Sarah Alice Gilliam who became Daniel's stepmother. From his father's second marriage, Daniel had three half-brothers.
About 1904 Daniel married Lucy Stepta Keith. Two daughters were born to the couple before his wife's death on December 2, 1910. Within a few years Daniel married Eula Jacoway of Georgia. One child, a son, was born to the couple.
Daniel preceded his wife in death on March 26, 1953 at the age of 70 and was buried in the Greenwood Cemetery. Besides his second wife, he was survived by his three children: daughters Mrs. Violet McCampbell and Mrs. Sarah K. Turner, son Daniel, Jr., and one sister, Mrs. Mildred Holder.
