He married Reba Ressler in March 1935 in Carlisle, PA. Ralph and Reba were both life long residents of Lancaster County. They had 5 children: Pauline, Jerry, Darlene, Cheryl, and Gloria. He was well loved by his family and is missed greatly.

50th wedding anniversary - March 1985 - Lancaster, PA: Clarence Ressler, Ralph Garner, Reba (Ressler) Garner, and Anna (Ressler) Hess. When Ralph and Reba married, Reba's brother and sister were the witnesses and 50 years later they helped celebrate the wedding again.
