T/Sgt Anderson was the flight engineer on B-24 #42-73064, assigned to the 10th Air Force, 7th Bombardment Group, 9th Bombardment Squadron. The plane crashed taking off from Pandaveswar airbase in India on a bombing mission, and all aboard were killed.
Anderson's body was returned to Maury Co. in 1948.
