Buried Fork Hill Baptist Church Cemetery per Obit from the Lancaster Enterprise 24 Jan 1900. Edward was a postman for Lancaster, had pneumonia, was doing better, went out to get the mail and relapsed, per family. A story told by family is Edward was cleaning his pistol and almost shot his sister, Minnie, accidentally. He left a wife and one child, the second child born six weeks later.

On the Death of Edward Stogner. On Monday night Jan 22,1900, the angel of death came for Mr. Edward Stogner, son of Mr. and Mrs. J C Stogner. Edward was 21 years of age, and was a bright and promising young man, but "in the midst of life we are in death." He was much admired and trusted by those who knew him. How his bright smiling face will be missed by his loved ones at home to whom he was so devoted. He leaves a loving wife, one little child, a kind father, tender mother, four brothers, and two sisters to mourn his loss. He was a member of Fork Hill Baptist church, and was buried there Tuesday evening, after a funeral service by Rev N. Watson. Edward dear you've gone rest, to the heavenly world so fair. On your gentle savior's breast, you are freed from toil and care. Never will you know a trouble, Ever will your heart be light, Where the spring of life doth bubble And your days be always bright. O to think how blest forever In the better fields above, This dear one for which we sorrow, Now is safe in Jesus' love. Rest at home, sweet angel Edward, Play upon your golden harp. Let your voice grow sweet and sweeter Like the music of the lark. O why do we grieve, for it can't be long Till we cross to the other shore, And sing the grand and beautiful song With our loved ones gone before. – Cousin Ella The Lancaster News, Feb. 7, 1900 (Nancy Ella Stogner)
