According to the 1910 Census (one year after his father Franz had passed away) he was living as a "boarder" with the McCaffrey family in Philadelphia - and that year he married my grandmother Alice McCaffrey (born around 1887 and died October 12, 1953). They had 4 children: James W. Brandt born in Philadelphia on July 11, 1911 and died in Arcadia, California in the 1990s, a daughter born in 1912 who died that same year named Katherine (who was buried in the same cemetery as Franz in Vineland, NJ), a son William Ralph Brandt Jr. born September 25th, 1918 and died in Riverside, California on January 30, 2000 and a daughter Alice Theresa Brandt born March 6th (or 24th), 1928 and died in Chicago on September 21, 2003. William died in 1943. He loved music, had a great sense of humor, and had 11 siblings (although 3 died in infancy).
