Information on William from his grandson:
William was born March 6, 1885 in New York, NY and followed his father (and brothers) in the glassblowing trade - he is listed in the 1900 Census as living with his parents in Philadelphia with the occupation "glassblower" at age 15. According to the 1910 Census (one year after his father Franz had passed away) he was living as a "boarder" with the McCaffrey family in Philadelphia - and that year he married my grandmother Alice McCaffrey (born around 1887 and died October 12, 1953). They had 4 children: James W. Brandt born in Philadelphia on July 11, 1911 and died in Arcadia, California in the 1990s, a daughter born in 1912 who died that same year named Katherine (who was buried in the same cemetery as Franz in Vineland, NJ), a son William Ralph Brandt Jr. born September 25th, 1918 and died in Riverside, California on January 30, 2000 and a daughter Alice Theresa Brandt born March 6th (or 24th), 1928 and died in Chicago on September 21, 2003. William died in 1943. He loved music, had a great sense of humor, and had 11 siblings (although 3 died in infancy).
